Submittable offers grantmakers an automatic way to screen applicants based on their EIN (employer identification number) and enables them to view the associated data, as provided by Candid (formerly Guidestar).
The Charity Check form field is available to use in Initial Forms, Additional Forms, and Eligibility Forms.
To use the Charity Check feature, drag the Charity Check form field, from the toolbox on the left, into your form. Submitters will be prompted to enter their organization's EIN (Employer Identification Number) when filling out the form.
Entry of a correct EIN number will pull data from Guidestar that will automatically fill in the submitted form. If the EIN is valid, it will look like this:
When using Charity Check in Eligibility Forms, there are further options to mark a specific IRS subsection as either eligible or ineligible.
Note: Submitters will not be able to see the data associated with their EIN until they have submitted their form. After submitting they will be able to view their EIN information under the Forms tab when viewing the submission.
