Note: This help article refers to archiving Projects using our new form engine. If you joined Submittable before January 7, 2020, your organization is using our original form building engine, and will be archiving Forms instead of Projects. If all of the submissions to a Project have reached a terminal status (Completed, Accepted, Declined, or Withdrawn), you may want to archive the Project, which removes the Project's name from your Search Filters on your Submissions List page. This is helpful for organizations that might otherwise have a long list of Projects to scroll through in the Project dropdown menu of their Search Filters.

Note: Only level 4 and 5 team administrators have the ability to archive Projects

To archive a Project follow these steps:

1. Make sure all submissions for the Project you'd like to archive have reached a terminal status (i.e., Completed, Accepted, Declined, or Withdrawn).

2. In your Submissions list, use the Project drop down selection in Search Filters to find all submissions belonging to the Project you'd like to archive. Check the checkboxes next to all submissions for the Project. Click Other and select Archive.

(Note: If you prefer to leave some submissions active/non-archived in the Project, we recommend labeling them, so you can easily find them with your Search Filters after the Project is archived. Also, even if you leave submissions un-archived, all submissions must still be in a terminal status in order for you to archive the Project.)

3. Navigate to your Projects page, and locate the name of the Project you'd like to archive. If the Project is still Live, drag it down to the Not Live section to make sure the Project inactive.

4. Click on the title of the Project. In the General Settings tab, scroll down to the Archive checkbox at the bottom of the page. Check the Archive checkbox.

5. Click Save Project.

6. To un-archive a Project at any time, simply click on its title on the Projects page and uncheck the Archive checkbox. Then click Save Project.
